I'm Back......To a lovely award from Sue

Hi everyone I am back and hoping to get on with some cards this week. Well what a fortnight it has been and I can't believe that my brother will be going back to Australia on Tuesday, where has the time gone. We had a fantastic time celebrating my parents 50th and then to top it all my younger brother proposed to his girlfriend in the early hours after the party. It was lovely and I am so happy for them. On a sad note though, I got up on Tuesday had a shower and got dressed ready to go out and meet the family only to find as I was walking up the road that my wedding and engagement rings were not on my finger. I had noticed a couple of times that they were slipping a bit as my fingers had got a bit thinner but never for the life of me thought that they would slip off and I would not realise. I have had the house upside down and have walked numerous time up and down the road hoping that I may get lucky but to no avail. I have been so upset but I think I have got to face it that they have gone.

Which brings me on to when I checked my blog tonight, which I haven't for the last fortnight, only to find that I have been left a lovely award from a very talented lady called Sue who has been reading my blog, and I would just like to say thank you so very much, it has really cheered me up. Pop on over to see Sue's lovely creations for herself, I know that I will be visiting often. Now I just need to work out how to pass it on.

Charmed Cards & Craft ......Dreamer

I think I mentioned the other day that I had a favourite Pixie from the new Charmed Cards & Crafts Pixie downloads, well here she is.
Isn't she adorable. She is called dreamer and she certainly gives you that dreamy feel. I coloured her with my promarkers and mounted her onto a mirri scalloped frame. I used my valentine heart lace punch and added a sentiment.
Hope you enjoyed looking.

Anniversary Card

Here is a quick anniversary card I did for my Stepson and his wife.

The card base is from Craft Creations, the heart was cut on my Cricut using the Wedding cartridge, the birds and birdcage were cut from JOTS. The background paper is from Pink Petticoat (Old Fashioned Girl collection).

Christmas Pixie

I managed to finish my challenge card for the Cricut MB this afternoon which was to use Red and Ribbons. The Pixie that I have used is one from the Pixie 1 set from Charmed Cards and Crafts which were designed by Louise along with elements and backgrounds by both Louise and Karen. These really are adorable and you can also see other samples of them on Dotties World, especially one called Dreamer which I have almost finished. My cardbase is one from Craftwork cards, Bazzill cardstock for the background, Mini Monograms for the scalloped circle embossed with Divine Swirls Embossing folder. I coloured my Pixie with my wonderful Promarkers.

Thanks for looking.
PS. Over at the Charmed Cards and Crafts blog they have another fabby prize up for grabs to win 72 Copic Markers. Pop over, link your card and leave a link on your post to be in with a chance of winning.

Catch Up

Sorry that I haven't been around a lot this week but it has been really busy with the final preparations for my parents 50th Anniversary. This coming Friday my brother is arriving from Australia so I am not going to be around too much for the next 3 weeks I am afraid, but will try and upload something every couple of days.
Do you remember me telling you about an awesome 2 week photo editing course being run online by Jessica Sprague. Well it started this week and it is brilliant. I thought I would show you some photos that I have manipulated using the techniques that Jessica has taught me.

For anyone who has never heard of Jessica, pop over to her website as she has some fantastic tutorials that will help you get to grips with this awesome programme.

The Cuttlebug Spot

Over at the Cuttlebug Spot there is a new contest going on sponsored by Custom Crops where they are trying to hit 500 followers. Why don't you pop on over there, sign up to register and be in with a chance of winning.

Have fun

Cuttlebug Card

Here is a very simple card that I made using one of the new cuttlebug embossing folders. I had seen this folder advertised and was already in love with it before I finally managed to get hold of one this week. With the embossed owl it really didn't need any more embellishments and I had been wanting to do an all white anniversary card, For the base I have used a Craftwork Cards scalloped card. I then just added a little highlight of silver behind the sentiment using my nestibilities just to lift it from the page, added a bow and then some perfect pearls and this is the result. Hope you like it.

Cute Little Backpack

I saw a tutorial not long ago on splitcoaststampers for this cute little backpack and thought it would be perfect to put some sweets or chocolates in for my little niece. I am really pleased with how it came out and it was so easy to make.

I can see a few more of these being made for tree and table presents at Christmas, or they could even be used to give as teachers presents in a couple of weeks when school ends for summer.

Papers are all from My Minds Eye.

Polkadoodle Challenge 7

This week over at Polkadoodles the challenge was to use some fruit on your card along with a hidden element. I tried to find a fruit other than cherries as this is what most of the design team had used but I was out of luck. I am really into cupcakes at the moment so I cut out this beauty from the celebrations cartridge twice, in pink, I then cut out the cupcake holder in patterned card and the frosting in pale pink. I then glittered the frosting and diamond glazed the cherries adding a brad behind the cherry so that the front cupcake could swing away to reveal the poem. All papers used were from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by.

Couple More Lily-Boo Cards

Morning everyone. How are you coping with the lovely weather we are having. I must admit I am finding it really tough at night as it feels like months since I had good night's sleep as I am struggling with my hayfever as well as the heat. It has been really busy over here recently what with final preparations for my parent's 50th Anniversary, ferrying Benn to all his activities and hospital visits to see my Mother-in-Law, but the good news is she is going to be home either today or tomorrow they have told me, and I have also had a phone call from my brother to say he will be arriving from Australia on the 17th (Can't wait).

Well back to today's cards. Here are a couple of Lily-Boo cards to give you some inspiration as to what you can do using Sam's great images.

The first one is using Collection 9 Boys and Their Toys coloured in with Promarkers. The football background paper is a download from Nitwits.

This image is from Collection 18 Betty & Friends 1 with a freebie paper from Polkadoodles (you may remember me using it for my Owl house challenge card. The other paper is from the Glitter Stack by DCWV
