Easel Wedding Card

Haven't had much time for crafting this week what with getting Benn ready and off for his school trip. He has gone on a rock climbing, caving, canoeing, team building trip to a place called Longrigg up near Kendal. He was really excited about it and I know he will have a great time, even though the weather has been so awful. I am not sure if he will be able to do all the activities as they do seem to be having flood alerts but I am sure it will be great fun still. As all Mums know though, I am missing him like crazy especially as he arrives home on Friday evening as I leave for Malta Friday lunchtime.
I apologise now if I go awol for a while as I have so much still to do getting my packing done along with making sure the boys are set up for while I am away as I can picture it now when it gets to Monday morning and a school tie is missing or something, and I haven't for the life of me any idea on this scheduling lark that other bloggers seem to be good at.
I was asked to make a wedding card so I thought I would use this gorgeous Cute Daisy May image and make an easel card as they are just so cute and really easy to make. The gorgeous image can be found on sheet 74 here. The next card was for a friend who has just had her first baby, and as you can see I have used another Daisy May image which is here.
I do hope that this weather improves for you all while I am away.

Over at Cute Daisy May this week we were challenged to come up with an I Love You type of card, so having a wedding to go to, I thought this would be the perfect image and can be found on Sheet 74. The card shape is called an Easel. I came across the challenge to make one of these cards while bloghopping when I landed on Magnolia-licious Highlites. This month they are challenging everyone to make one of these adorable cards and Suzanne has very kindly added a great tutorial. I found this so easy to make and really enjoyable, so you had better watch out as I feel a few more of these coming on.

Papers: Basic Grey Sugared
Sentiment: Computer generated
Tools: Martha Stewart Flourish & Woodware Flower Punch
Have a good Monday

Birthday Card

I haven't played with my magnolias for a little while which is a shame as they are just so cute. Anyway, I had to make a birthday card for a friend and couldn't resist this image. The papers I have used are Basic Grey and Stampin Up. The flower I made myself using a woodware punch, added a Craftwork Cards sentiment and some Card Candy also by Craftwork Cards. I hope she likes it.

I am really pleased as I am actually in time for some challenges this week, which is unusual for me as by the time I managed to find any time to craft at the moment, the challenge has been and gone.

I Love Promakers - to follow a sketch
Crafty Creations - Blue
Charisma Cardz - Distressing
Whimsy Stamps - Get Punchy
BasicGrey Challenge - Colour Combo of Green, Red and Blue, the green is a bit hard to see but it has been used to colour the base of the rose before the stork of brown.

Have a great weekend.

Exciting News Lily-Boo Challenge 1 Started

Here is my first DT challenge card for the new Lily-Boo Challenge Blog. This challenge will be running for a month to enable all you busy crafters time to get your entries in. For our first challenge we are asking you to create a New Home card using a recipe of 4 brads, 3 flowers and 2 ribbons. The lucky winner (chosen by the DT) will have a pick of 2 Lily-Boo's image sheet downloads, and if you would like to play along but don't have a suitable image, Sam is even giving you free download too. Not bad eh!
My papers are by Basic Grey from the Sugared collection. I cut out 3 other flowers from the background paper and added a cute little flower brad to them. For the image I cut out 2 scalloped circles, one in burgandy and one in green and joined them together using my fourth brad. I then added my sentiment to the green one behind and the cute little image to the front added my 2 ribbons and there you have it.
We would love to see you playing along and I can't wait to see what you clever crafters will come up with.

Anniversary Card

My mum asked me if I could make a card for some very good friends of theirs as it will be their Coral anniversary next week. I decided that I would make a card to match the little box of notelets that I made last week for her as the colours were just right for coral, especially as mum fell in love with the notelet box exclaiming "wow I would have loved one of them to give to Carmela" - so Mum, if you are reading this I got the hint and here is the card to go with it LOL.

Just a note - Polkadoodle Challenge

A while ago I saw a lovely little notelet box designed by a very talented lady called Sarah at Card Oasis , go and check out her blog as she designs some fantastic work. Well I really fell in love with this, and thought how great it would be for those times where time is short but you need a little present to be able to give someone, and what better than a little box of notelets. It was while visiting another of my favourite blogs that I noticed Paul at Crafty Blogocks (another very talented person) had done one too but had changed the dimensions slightly to fit 10cm x 10cm cards. Paul very kindly forwarded me these dimensions as I was wanting to do one for a friend and this is a great size card for notelets. Well here is my version, I have used SU and Basic Grey papers and card candy from Craftwork Cards. Pop on over to Sarah and Paul's blogs to see their great work, but I recommend making a cup of tea first as you will be glued to you computer screen for quite a while.
I have entered this into the Polkadoodle challenge this week as the theme was you needed to make a card or project which was also a gift. Hope you enjoy looking.
