Promarker Challenge

Morning everyone, what a lovely morning it is with the sun shining I can feel a bbq coming on.

Back at the beginning of May I told you that a new challenge blog had been set up called the "Promarker Challenge Blog" and I managed to get my entry done last night.

As this is the first challenge the girls decided that anything goes, no sketch to follow, no specific colours which was good as I only have a limited number (and I think I must have used everyone!!!

The colours I used were: Black, Blush, Satin, Lime Green, Grass, Cinnamon, Yellow & Magenta.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Most Improved Player Award

Just another quick one as I forgot to say that Benn won Most Improved Player at his Football Presentation Evening at the MK Dons Stadium. He was a bit gobsmacked but happy. The other picture is of him and his dad with baby Luke at the BBQ.

DT Cards - Underwater Ovals

Morning everyone, I hope you had a peaceful time last night while the footie was on. I know I did, I finally had time to play without any interruptions as the boys were heavily engrossed. I have been trying to find time to play with the Under The Sea Collection from Lily-Boo's Boutique. For those who haven't been over to her site yet, pop on over as she designs the most adorable images that come on a sheet of 6 for £1.99.

Looks like it is going to be another lovely day

Here are the cards that I got done using these images. Hope you like them.

Wedding Cards

Good morning. I hope you all enjoyed the bank holiday weekend and took advantage of the lovely weather we had. It has been really busy over here what with Benn's birthday and having the family all gathered. We really had a lovely time though and it was nice catching up as everyone leads such busy lives these days.

I was asked by a friend to make a couple of wedding cards for her as her brother is getting married this week. I must say I struggled a bit with these as she insisted that her brother's name was mentioned first as she is extremely close to him. I didn't have a hard time actually doing it, it was mentally I struggled as I don't know about you but I have always felt that it didn't matter whether they were family members or not, the brides name should always be first. What do you think, I would be interested in anyone else's thoughts on this, or is it just me?

I have used all Pink Petticoat on one of the cards including the new Lola Rose Wedding designs and on the other I used my Cricut machine. Anyway, thanks for looking and I hope you like them.

First DT Card - Butterflies

Here is a card I made using one of Sam's images from Lilyboo's Boutique. For anyone that doesn't know, I was asked if I would join them on their design team and boy are they all talented ladies, I just hope that I don't let them down. I can tell you I was doing the happy dance that day. Well this is an image that Sam put on the UK Crafters thread for everyone to use for the challenge last week. Unfortunately with everything going on I was unable to participate then but have managed to finally get my card done now. Hope you like it. All the papers I have used are a download from a company called Daisie. I have coloured the image in using Sakura gel pens as they give a lovely sparkly look.

We have just been sent some more images which I know you will all love, but that is all I am saying at the moment he....he.... Pop on over and have a browse, they really are gorgeous images and the beauty of using downloads is that you are able to print them out at whatever size you want, no stamps to store and you have them forever.

Lily Boo's Design Team

Whoa, I am so excited as I have been asked to join the new design team for Lily-Boo's Boutique along with some other very creative ladies. For those that have not come across Lily-Boo's, you ought to pop along there and take a look at the fantastic images that Sam creates, and visit all the blogs of the other members of the DT. I am really looking forward to the start of a very exciting adventure and working alongside such lovely ladies.

Well I have to say I am sorry as I have been away for a little while, it has just been so busy. First of all we weren't around for the weekend and second, I have felt so rough since with a really sore throat and really not feeling up to doing anything. Benn turned round though and said "Mum you haven't got swine flu have you", don't you just love them.

I will be off a while again this week as it is Benn's big 13th on Friday so we have lots going on, not only do we have his birthday things, we also have his end of season awards night at football where we are very lucky as it is being held at the MK Don's stadium.

Well must go but see you again soon.

Just a bit sad.....

I am a little sad today as I have just found out that I didn't make it onto Funky Hand's design team. A lady call Dolly won who creates fabulous designs. Well done Dolly. Oh well I will just have to keep trying but their CD's are just so yummmmmy.

A couple more cards

Thought I would show you a couple more cards I have made. The first one was for our Granddaughter Kezia and the second for our Grandson Logan. These were both made using the cricut with a mixture of Pink Petticoat papers and my own stash. The sentiment circle is one I made myself while trying to learn Illustrator.
The third one I made was for some friends of mine for their wedding using the Glitter Girls Bookatrix.
Thanks for looking.

Dottie's World Invitation

Dottie's World is celebrating its 1st birthday and to celebrate have decided to relaunch their blog over this weekend. When they re-open on Sunday they will be having a big party with lots of birthday games and prizes and everyone is welcome to join in the fun. To join this party all you have to do is Display your invitation, link to their post and write about their party.

If anyone has not visited Dottie's World or purchased any of their downloads before then they are missing lots. Their downloads are awesome, especially their Holly, Madison and the newly gorgeous Mikey (Madison's other half), they are great for teenager cards.

Have a great evening. I am off to bed now.

Double Challenge

This week I have been really clever, I finally got myself into gear to complete a challenge for "Just Magnolia" on Thursday along with the "Friday Sketcher".

For the Just Magnolia one I had to use stitching or faux stitching, and as I am hopeless with anything to do with needlework I opted for the faux stitching and stamped around the edges. For the Friday sketcher it is self explanatory and this is my take on it. I have used some background papers from my stash that I had bought back in the summer from Costco that I thought would be perfect for this. I coloured my image with the good old promarkers on my adorable Tilda, stamped a sentiment circle, added some flowers and bling and hey presto I have managed to do two. Whoa, I have even surprised myself but what good fun it was and I feel a real sense of achievement.

Well have a good day, I must get off to work now to earn a bit more to buy some more he he!

New Challenge Blog

I have been having my usual hop around my favourite blogs and have come across a new one. It is called "The Promarker Challenge Blogspot". Now as you all know, I have recently purchased my first sets of promarkers and looooove them. They are just so easy to use and do not leave those horrible scratchy marks on your colouring.

The blog has been set up by two ladies who love their promarkers, with the challenge being on using certain colours that the girls, Gina and Denise decide for that week. Well I can't promise to join in every week, firstly because of the time element and secondly I am not lucky enough yet to have an abundance of them (oh I wish.....), but I will certainly try to enter as many as I can. The girls are very kindly giving away some lovely blog candy to celebrate the launch of the new challenge so if you fancy being in with a chance, pop on over there.

UK Crafters Challenge

This is the card I've done for the UK Crafters thread on the Cricut MB. The challenge was to do a card using just Black and White. I cut the chandelier out using the Home Decor cartridge. Mini Monograms for the scalloped mat and Storybook for the sentiment. The papers were Little Big Dots in Black from Pink Petticoat (do you get the feeling that I like polka dots at the moment), fnished off with craftwork cards card candy.

I have just had a great evening crafting with a friend of mine that has just started to get involved. Her words tonight were "isn't it addictive", oh gosh I have only gone through a quarter of what I have got so far, I will just have to ease her in a it slower.

Hope you have all had a good weekend so far and hope that tomorrow will be even better.

Daisy May Challenge Card

Morning everyone, hope you are all looking forward to the weekend, I am.

I managed to get a bit of time last night to work on my Daisy May challenge card and here it is. The little girl image is a digital download from Sketching Stamper, I just love her great big eyes. She is coloured in with those lovely promarkers again. I have used Bazzill cardstock in pink and lilac that I scalloped using my Fiskars Threading Water punch and a piece of background paper from my stash. Finished off with a couple of flowers, ribbon and a rub on sentiment.

Hope you enjoy looking.

Wanted - Design Team Member at Funky Hand

Well after blog hopping today I came across a post on Enyfs's blog stating that Funky Hand were looking for a new design team member. Consequently I have spent the whole day thinking should I apply, and then thinking no I couldn't possibly as I am no way up to the standard needed to become part of a design team, especially after looking at all the other entrants work. Finally I have decided that I will never know unless I try (omg what am I saying!!!). On that note here are some of my previous cards to go with the ones I have already posted.
For those of you who don't know Funky Hand, pop along and have a look at the fantastic CD's that they have on offer, you may also see Anice when she appears on Create and Craft showcasing them along with the great creations that her design team produce.
I hope you enjoy looking.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Hope everyone is enjoying the Bank Holiday, amazing how we always have horrible weather on bank holidays. Our local pub were having a fun day with bouncy castles, live band and a bbq today. It was such a shame as everyone had put in so much work and then the weather goes and ruins it, especially as yesterday had been so nice.

We went to Benn's football match in the morning where we were facing the team that were top of the league, we had played them before but had only drawn against them. Well this time it was fantastic. The team were so hyped up and really went out with positive attitudes. Benn had a brilliant game and scored a cracking goal. We finally finished with a score of 3-0 with Benn being awarded Man of the Match. To say he was chuffed would be an under statement.
Today I have been busy making a couple of cards, one for a friend for her birthday and a new house card for another friend.
Both cards have been made using Pink Petticoat papers and images. The birthday card uses the papers and images from the Sweet Sundaes collection. I cut the cupcake out using the Home Decor cartridge on my Cricut. For the new home one I used Little Big Dots in Black, the Home Sweet Home image set along with the Girly Curly Sentiments. Have I told you before how much I love Pink Petticoat.

My First Tilda

Well I have finally produced my first Tilda Card and I am really pleased with it. I managed to pick up 3 of these adorable stamps but as usual have to have more so I am now on the lookout.
I have been having a nosy on the Magnolia site where they have a stamp club. After reading more about it and being given more information from a lady called Andrea, I have decided to join. Andrea is a a member of the Design Team over at Magnolia and if you go to her blog you will see her wonderful cards using sweet Tilda. When you join the stamp club you do not know what stamps you will receive until they turn up at your door, as they will be from the range that they are about to release. It states that it will be between 12 & 15 which includes about 5-6 figures. It works out so much cheaper than if you were to buy all these stamps individually.
Well must go now as I have to get to a football match, but at least it is a lovely morning for it. Have a great day.

Teenager Challenge Card

Well I have been really clever this week as I have made this card to fit in with 2 challenges. Yes you heard right, I am entering 2 challenges. The first challenge is on the UK Crafters thread on the Cricut MB where we had to make a card suitable for a male/boy and also include buttons.
Well here is my effort. It was quite handy as I had to make a card for a friend's Son who's 18th birthday it is in 2 weeks time and I thought that this image would be great due to him having a moped. I find it a real struggle to do mens/boys cards so this was really helpful in forcing me to challenge myself, and I must say, I am pretty pleased at the outcome.
The second challenge that this card will fit it the Charmed Cards & Craft challenge going on over at Dottie's World where we had to make a card for a teenager using one of the charmed downloads. I have recently come across their downloads and I must say I haven't been disappointed. This is my 3rd set that I have purchased and between all of them I don't think that there is any card for any occasion that I would not be able to make now. Pop on over and see for yourselves.
I have had a lovely day today as Benn was out with some friends, Brian has been out all day at White Hart Lane to see Tottenham play and I got to spend a couple of hours with my Mum when we went out for lunch and then had a couple of hours with my friend Sue who is another crafter like myself. I am now just about to get a takeaway and have a glass of wine relaxing.
Hope you all have a lovely relaxing evening too.
