Hubby's Valentine

Today I am going to show you a card that I have made to give my lovely hubby for Valentines.

I have again been playing with my new Cameo and downloaded the white scalloped lace heart from the SIL store.  I cut this out using Centura Pearl card from Crafters Companion and using my new found knowledge I created a shadow layer.  This layer was then duplicated and welded into an easel card.  The sentiment is another file that I shadowed and I also made a mat for the bottom part.  The image is another gorgeous Saturated Canary which is my latest must have lol.  I have coloured her using my Spectrum Noir Pens, added a ribbon and some Wild Orchid flowers and hey presto, its finished.  I hope he likes it as much as I enjoyed making it.

I am entering this into the following challenges.

Cameo Birthday

Well where is the time going.  I don't know about you but it is going far too fast for my liking.

Today I am sharing a birthday card with you that I have cut out using my new Silhouette Cameo with a free cut file from Sue Lough.  I cut the sentiment tag on the back using the print and cut method (I love being able to type your text then get the machine to cut your sentiment out in a shape).  The yellow circle was cut using my Spellbinders Grand Decorative Circles.

I have been looking at the Cameo for ages as I loved my Cricut but found I was very restricted for images as it was getting so costly buying cartridges when I was only wanting one image off it.  Another thing I found was that not every image/font came with a shadow and this was a real bug bear as I do like my mats/shadows.  I also found that this machine was capable of producing such intricate cuts after finding out as much about it as I could.  So I finally caved in and this is my first project.  Yes I know it's not that intricate but oh the cuts are sooooo much better plus I will (once I've studied it a bit better) be able to incorporate it with all my CDs and CraftArtist files which will be brilliant.  Now I just have to master making my own designs, rhinestone designs etc, oh where will it end.

Hope you like it.  Anyway, I am entering this into the following challenges.
