Christening Card

Hello everyone, I can't believe how quick the weeks are going at the moment not only is it just over 14 weeks until Christmas it is only 28 weeks until Benn and his friends have to sit their exams., how can that happen, I'm sure it was only a few weeks ago that he started school lol.  Well that's how it feels anyway.

I also can't believe that in this day and age people can be held as slaves or that it could happen where I live. The whole town is shocked to think that this was happening right under our noses to these poor peole and why the police left it so long from when they were first made aware to finally raiding the place.  All I can say is thank god they did though as it is absolutely shocking and so sad, I had never seen so many police around as there were last Sunday.

Well I know I haven't been blogging much lately but I haven't been very well, I have been suffering lots of migraines.  Saying that I haven't been slacking either as I have still had to get a few customer orders done but haven't had the time or indeed the enthusiasm to download them from my camera yet but I thought it was about time I updated my blog as I hadn't realised how long I have neglected it.

Here is a christening card that I was asked to do a couple of months ago but haven't had a chance to show you (see I told you I was pretty bad at downloading my photos didn't I).

I am going to enter this into the following challenges.

Crafty Ribbon - Anything Goes
Ruby's Rainbow - For the Girls
Fab n Funky Challenge - Bingo (Embellishment, Ribbon & Diecut)
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Dutch Dare Card Challenge - Monocromatic

Well that's it from me today but I promise I won't leave it as long next time.  Hope you all have a good weekend.

18th Exploding Box Card

Hi crafters

Just a quickie as I am off to bed now as I am off to Stamperama in Stevenage tomorrow so need to be up early.  I didn't get to the April one or the Big Stamp and Scrapbooking show what with Brian having had his stroke at the end of the year, so am really looking forward to it.

I did this exploding box for a friends daughter for her 18th and have since had 3 more commisions for them.  I used the same papers that I used a few weeks back for my Mum's birthday card as I really love them (Nitwits Collection).  I added a musical candle to the birthday cake that plays the tune of Happy Birthday which went down a storm.

Well nighty night but thanks for stopping by and I hope to be back soon.  In the meantime I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

I am entering this into the following challenges.

Birthday Box - Just for a Change

Duh! stupid me, I only went and forgot to link my card to the challenges I was wanting to enter.  Oh well I have done it now lol.  See you soon x

Hi everyone

Hope you are all having a good weekend, I certainly am as I have spent the whole day scrapbooking with some great friends and boy did I need it.  It was lovely and relaxing and just what I needed, I even got 2 layouts completed.

As you know I have had real problems with my PC and so haven't had a chance to put on some cards that I had made previously so I thought I would try and show you on now, and yes another Box Card.  This was made for a lady who had seen one of my box cards that I had been commissioned to make for a friend of hers and she asked me to make one for her to give to her Sister.

Sorry about the photo, I didn't realise it was so dark when I took it and as I have only just managed to download them I have only just seen how dark they were.

Hope you like it, she certainly did.  I am entering this into the following challenges.

Crafts and Me - Favourite Stamp/Image
Belles n Whistles - Flowers & Pearls
The Paper Shelter - Lots of Dots
C.R.A.F.T. - Box

Birthday Card

Gosh I didn't realise how long I had been away.  It started with my laptop dying on me and when I finally got it back I have had a real time of it with blogger then on top of that my mojo had gone walkabout.

I am really getting frustrated with Internet Explorer and blogger as there are so many lovely blogs that I love to visit and am not able to, a couple being Juls at The Glitter Chick and Pinky at Pinky's World.  Every time I visit my computer goes so slow but if I try and leave a comment my computer jams up.  So if you are both reading this I just want you to know that even though I can't comment I still love to see all you fabulous creations.

Even though my mojo has been missing I have still had to get some commissions done and will post them as soon as the events have passed but in the meantime I thought I would share one with you that I made for my mum for her birthday tomorrow.  I used this digi image from Crafts & Me which I think is absolutely gorgeous and is so reasonable at £2.00.

And now I am off to bed as I am shattered tonight, it has been a looooonnnnng week but hey a new one starts tomorrow lol.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Crafts & Me - Birthday
Allsorts -  Free and Easy
I Love Promarkers - Include Flowers
Birthday Sundaes - Birthday Sentiment
By the Cute & Girly - With Wings
Crafty Purple Frog - Swirls & Pearls

Kenny K Challenge - Retro

I know nothing for ages and then 2 in a row.  I can't stop but I thought I would show you a card I have done for the Kenny K's challenge this week which is retro and as I have had this paper by Fancy Pants for ages and thought it would be perfect for this theme,

I had a little time yesterday to do some crafting before going to some friends for a bbq as Benn's football season has now finished (yippee some lay-ins) and this was the result.

Hope you like it and I will be back soon with some more creations that I haven't had the time before to post.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good week.

GDT - One Stitch at a Time

Happy Sunday everyone, I have been so busy the last couple of weeks and haven't had any time for crafting but I have at least enjoyed the gorgeous weather we have been having.

Did you all enjoy the Royal Wedding, it was lovely wasn't it.  I so love William and Kate and really look forward to the day that they become King and Queen as I think they will both do a fantastic job and even though his Mum isn't here any more I know that she would have been so proud of William, in fact both of her boys.  I also think she would have definitely approved of his choice of bride and I wish them both a lifetime of happiness.

Well onto the only card I have managed this week.  I recently won over at One Stitch at a Time and they very kindly invited me to be a Guest Designer for their challenge this week which was fancy folds.  I almost went with an Easel card as this is my favourite type at the moment (not that you can tell, can you?) lol, but decided in the end to do a Side Step card instead (I think that is what it is called).  The cute little image is one of the images from Gillus Gallery over at OSAAT and can be found here, isn't he cute.  I decided to use him to do a Father's Day card so that I didn't end up making them at the last minute which is what always seems to happen.

The Bench and Table  was one of the images that I won from The Stamping Boutique

Well have a good week and I hope to be back again very soon with some more creations as I am hoping to get some time to play this week but alas we shall have to wait and see.

Thanks for stopping by.

A New Grandson

Hi everyone

I hope you have all been enjoying the gorgeous sunshine that we have been having over the last week, I know I certainly have, there is nothing like sun to make everything seems so much better and on that subject I thought I would let you know that Brian is doing so much better.  This last week we have seen such a difference in him not only with his energy levels and what he can do but mentally in himself.  He is even talking about getting back to work which is a very positive step.

On top of this Brian's Son and Daughter-in-Law have become proud parents to their second little boy, a baby brother for Luke and we have been blessed with another little Grandchild.  He came into the world a little early due to Amy having pre-eclampsia weighing 5lb 11oz but Amy is doing very well now and Ryan is absolutely gorgeous, I am enjoying having lots of cuddles lol.

This brings me onto my card, and yes another Easel Card Box, have I told you that I am doing so many of these at the moment, I actually have another 3 to show you but I will leave those for another day.I hope you enjoy looking at it, the box is just perfect to fit 2 newborn vests wrapped in tissue (onsie's for our US friends), but I forgot to photograph that bit, lol.

I'm Back - Guest Designer for 7Kidsforcollegefund - Seeing Spots

Yes it is true, I am back and it feels like it has been forever.  I tell you, you forget how much you rely on your computer don't you.  Well I am pleased to say it appears to be working again now so keep your fingers crossed.

I haven't been slacking though, I have actually made a few creations but haven't been able to download them yet due to time restraints but I have got this one that I had downloaded before my computer went down ready for my Guest Designer spot on the 7 Kids for College Fund Challenge Blog.  The girls over there would like to see your creations using Spots.
This was for a gentleman that was celebrating his 30th Wedding Anniversary and was taking his wife away to the Bahamas.  He had supplied me with the message which was rather long and because it was so personal I didn't think it would be right to have it on show (as I had made an easel card) so I incorporated a secret flap on the front but you can't really see it in the photos but it is where you see the white mat on top of the green.  I then made the box to fit the card.

Well I hope that you all pop over and give all the girls some love as their creations are gorgeous, and we would love it if you would join in the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back again soon with some more.
I am entering this into the following challenges

House of Gilli - Ribbons & Pearls

Hi everyone

I Just wanted to let you all know I have problems with my PC at the moment so am unable to show you anything new or more importantly get round to visit you all. I have luckily been able to add this message via my iPhone but it is very time consuming so if you could bear with me hopefully it won't be long before I am back with you all.

Card for a Baby Boy

Hi everyone just another quickie as per usual I am running behind time.  It has been a very very long week but I had a lovely day yesterday as I went with a friend to London, had a meal and then saw Westlife in concert (we have gone to see them for the last 10 years).  It was a great evening as usual and a nice break.  Benn goes to his first concert next week up in Manchester to see Chase and Status who he thinks are brilliant, he doesn't think much to my addiction to Westlife though.  It will be lovely for him as his Brother is taking him which Benn thinks will be awesome as being in his late 20's and attending Glastonbury and numerous other festivals every year, makes him a cool dude.  So to be attending his first concert with him is going to be very special.

Well I have been very busy recently with making these great easel boxes as everyone and his mother seems to want them but I must admit I do love this one as there is nothing nicer than creating something special for a new baby is there.

Well must be off as I have to get off to football now as Benn will be wondering where I have got to.

I am entering this into the following challenges.

Summer Breeze Birthday Card

Morning everyone, a nice bright day today so at least it will be better standing on the edge of the football pitch, so I must hurry up and get ready as I still have sooooo much still to do before I get out of the door.

It has been a busy week this week as I have been busy trying to get orders done so haven't had much time for crafting for myself plus Brian hasn't been very good.  His speech has deteriorated significantly and he has been quite dizzy and sick so we are back off to the doctors tomorrow as I am concerned that his blood pressure may now be too low with all the medication and may need adjusting.  Anyway, I will feel better once he has been checked over.

So onto my card. where I have used the fabulous image Summer Breeze by Barbara at Forgotten Scraps, isn't she just adorable.  I have used the sketch from Sketch Saturday and my DP's are a mix of Basic Grey and Stampin Up.  The flowers have been cut out using Marianne Dies which I have added a Craftwork Card Candi to them and a rose from my stash (not at all as lovely as the gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, but it was the right size).  The sentiment is a Bizzy Becs one.

I am entering this into the following challenges.

Passion for Promarkers - Sugar Rush
Polkadoodles - Flower Power
Allsorts Challenge - Card for a Teenager
Sketch Saturday - Sketch
Little Miss Muffet - Designer Papers

Well thanks for popping over, have a great day and I will see you later on in the week.

Enfys and Letraset

Good morning everyone, just a quickie as I don't have a card to show you today as I have been so busy and just haven't had time to photograph them yet.

Anyway I just wanted to let you know that I am soooo excited as I was one of the five winners of the Letraset competition that Enfys held on their behalf.  I have won 2 packs of their new blending pairs which means 24 pens- yippee.  I have been using these fabulous pens for over a year now and love them so if you haven't tried them you really must.  Not only have I won the pens but I have to send my card to them as it will be used by them to show at exhibitions and such, ooh fancy that I shall just have to find out where and stalk it to see it proudly on show he! he!.

Well that's it, I just wanted to let you all know but have to go now and finish getting ready for work - roll on retirement lol.

See you all again very soon.

Another Letraset Card

Good morning everyone, what a dismal day after yesterdays nice bright spring day.  I took a couple of days off this week being half term but what with sleep-overs and such I ended up with a day to myself yesterday (heaven every now and then) so decided what better way to spend it other than crafting.  I was very pleased to be able to get a couple of commissions done but unfortunately I cannot share them with you yet but I did manage to get one made just for the fun of it and so decided that I would enter it into the Letraset competition that can be found on Enfys blog here.

For this card I used the following promarkers (I think I am going through my Apricot stage at the moment):

Girls Hair: Sandstone, Vanilla and Ivory
Boys Hair: Cinnamon, Sandstone and Ivory
Girls Dress: Ginger and Apricot
Boys Jumper: Kahki and Ivory
Girls Shoes: Apricot and Cool Grey 1
Bench: Cinnamon and Shale
Rope: Sandstone
Boys Shoes: Shale and Cool Grey 1

I have used a mixture of Bazzill, White Pearl card and a Nitwit download (Tippytoes) finished off with some of my new Craftwork Cards Candi and Wild Orchid Crafts flowers.  The sweet little image is by Lily of the Valley and is so adorable.  The gorgeous new Martha Stewart punch is called Cherish (and I think it is my new all time favourite, at least until they bring the next lot out lol).

Well have a nice day everyone, I will as I am off out for the day with my lovely Mum.

Thanks for visiting.

Valentine Sweet Box

Hi everyone

Yes I know twice in one week but this was something I have really been wanting to share with you.  I have seen lots of these boxes around the blogs and have wanted to make one for ages so when it came to do my Dad's card to give to my Mum for Valentine's Day I thought it would be ideal.  It became even better when Donna from Bearly Mine brought out her lovely Floral Fantasies download as I wanted this to be very special for my Mum as they have been married now for 52 years and as she loves roses, I wanted to reflect this.

My Dad then filled the box with her favourite Lindt and Raffaelo chocolates, so as you can see I couldn't share it with you until she had received it.

Sorry but there is a few pictures (you can't tell that I am really proud of it can you lol).

I am going to enter this into the following challenges.
