Birthday Card

Morning all

Are you having a good weekend, mind you not too sure about this weather though with this wind.  It could be worse though as our poor friends and relations in Australia are certainly having a time of it.

I am just about to spend a little time crafting in a mo as I have my neice staying with us tonight as her Mum and Dad are out for the evening and as she is just like her Auntie and loves her crafting, well that is just the excuse I need.

This card is for someone who wanted a birthday card for a friend.

All the papers come from Craftwork cards along with the Card Candy.  I have coloured the lovely Willow in using my promarkers and then coloured the white grosgrain ribbon using the same pen.

I am entering this card into the following challenges.

Baby Card

Morning everyone

Phew, nearly didn't keep to my resolution but finally had a bit of time last night to have a play.

We have been back to the hospital for Brian to have some tests done to see if it would be viable to operate.  We now just have to wait until we see his specialist again to find out the results.  Doesn't do much for his blood pressure I must say but as I told Brian, we will cross that bridge when we come to it.

Anyhow onto my card.  This time I have had to make a baby card for a little girl and came across a new download from Pink Gems.  How good is that as everything comes for you to just print, cut and then layer and design - heaven for when you have had a week like mine.

I am entering this into the following challenges.

Paperplay - Layer it Up (Week 4)
Totally Papercrafts - One for the Kiddies (Challenge 51)
Pink Gems - Ribbon & Lace (Challenge 13)
Crafty Calendar Challenge - New Beginnings (Challenge 16)

Oh well better get a move on and get ready for work.  Have a good day.

Thank You

Hi everyone

Hope you are having a good week so far.  Well I am really pleased with myself as I have been making sure to spend a little time each week crafting and am so happy as it really helps me relax.

Have you seen the gorgeous new images both digital and rubber from Funky Kits.  This little beauty is called JOY and can be found here, and as that is my Mum's name I couldn't resist - well could you just look at that adorable face.  I was asked to make a card for a lady who wanted a thank you card, she said she wanted it pink and girly.  I think this fits the bill don't you.

I have used my new Marianne Die again.  All the background papers are from Bearly Mine Crafts but I can't rememeber which sets they they are all lovely anyway I have followed Donna's fabulous sketch so that I could join in their very first challenge.  I have added some card candy from Craftwork Cards and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and that is about it.

Valentine's Card

Good morning to you all.

Well I have stuck to my resolution so far this year lol. but what a long week it has been.  Don't you find that the first week after Christmas seems to be sooooo long.

Well onto my card today.  I downloaded this fabulous Kenny K image with a card in mind for my hubby for valentines and isn't it just fab.  Mind you I am a bit concerned as I don't want his blood pressure going up anymore than it is at the moment (well you have to try and laugh don't you).  All the papers are a download from Pink Petticoat, the doily is new as well as my new Marianne die (I just loooove this).  I have coloured my image with my trusty promarkers and added some card candy from Craftwork cards.  The ribbon was one that I recycled from a wedding invitation last year (I knew I would use it sometime he! he!).

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Happy New Year

I would like to wish each and everyone of my lovely followers a Happy New Year for 2011.  2010 was not the best of years but as we know a new one has now started and I would like to take the time to thank you all for the lovely comments and emails received with best wishes for my wonderful hubby Brian.   He is starting to feel a bit better but we still have a long way to go.  It is amazing how something can happen that can change your whole perspective on life, it is far too short to worry about silly things, take each day as it comes and live life to the fullest.

With the New Year about to be upon us I have made a decision to try and post at least one card a week on my blog as I have to say that I have missed my crafting but I am hoping that my mojo will return now that mentally I am in a better place.

So without further ado, here is my creation to celebrate the 1st day of a new year.

This card was done for a young lady who was turning 13 and as easel cards are my favourite at the moment I opted for this.  All the papers used are the "With this Ring" collection by Nitwits - they are just a dream to work with and the image from  is from Kenny K's was just perfect I thought.

Thanks again for all your support and I look forward to being back with you all in blogland.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Totally Gorgeous - Someone Special
Digital Tuesday - Anything Goes
Passion for Promarkers - Anything Goes

A quick catch up

Hi followers

I am so sorry that I haven't been around lately but as you know this year hasn't been the best.  I finally thought things were looking up and I would be able to join you all again when my fabulous husband suffered two strokes, one he didn't even realise he had had,  so as you can imagine it has been a really bad time.  I had just spent the day at the NEC with my Mum at the Cake Show when it happened.  He is on the road to recovery but it is going to be a while before things are back to normal.  The worst thing for him is that it has affected his speech which he's finding really frustrating as it wears him out, not only with getting the words out but for his brain to form them in the first place.  It has been such a rollercoaster ride with his emotions especially as he didn't realise it had already happened once without knowing, now he is so scared it will happen again, he is also so tired all the time.  Mind you it still could have been so so much worse but at 54 you don't expect it to happen at all.

I have a couple of cards that I had made before to share with you but will try and join you all again as soon as possible.

Ruby Wedding

Some friends of my parents celebrated their Ruby Wedding recently and asked me if I would make their invitations.  I decided to use my Cricut and cut out 2 hearts for each invite.  Once cut I embossed the fronts with a cuttlebug folder (I think it was the Victoriana one).  In Photoshop I merged a photo of their wedding with a picture of them both now, reduced the opacity printed them out and then cut them into hearts with the cricut too.  All the layers were then joined using some Ruby ribbon.  I added a small layered mat and a rose to each front.

They loved them I am pleased to say.

Thanks for stopping by.
